Light, Dark and System appearance
Choose Light, Dark or System in Appearance, with separate customizable palettes and resets for light and dark, while keeping your existing light colors.
Everything that changed in owllet, newest first.
This is the same list the app shows under Settings → About → All changes. Each entry is dated by the day the change was actually made, which is not necessarily the day it reached the App Store — one release often carries several weeks of work.
Newest first
Choose Light, Dark or System in Appearance, with separate customizable palettes and resets for light and dark, while keeping your existing light colors.
The owl logos inside the app now match its appearance, while separate light and dark Home Screen icons follow your iPhone's icon style.
The owllet owl now comes to life in the launch screen, Settings, About and the website logo: it drops in, flaps its wings and, apart from the launch screen, keeps blinking and looking around.
Transactions now shows the selected month's total income and expenses above the daily entries, alongside the controls for browsing earlier months.
The iOS bottom menu now shows four shortcuts at a time and lets you swipe through additional items one position at a time, while Menu stays fixed on the right.
Page titles and the workspace switcher stay in place while cards scroll underneath, with either the bottom menu or the hamburger menu enabled.
A new toolbar at the top of Transactions lets you browse earlier months and return to the current month, even when a month has no entries.
Recurring expenses and income can now use the exact date and time you approve them as their ledger date, for both fixed and variable amounts, while keeping their repeat schedule.
The bottom menu once again sits above the home indicator, keeping its full height visible and its buttons easy to tap.
Expense and income amounts in shared-transaction notifications now use the same customizable colors as your transaction list.
Individual shared-transaction notifications now show who added the transaction, its amount in bold and its category or subcategory directly in the list, with the same detail view available on tap.
Opening owllet — from the icon, from the app switcher, or after unlocking with your PIN or Face ID — now always starts with empty cards that fill in with their usual animation, instead of briefly showing the previous screen's contents or grey placeholder shapes first.
Category moves can now keep the moved category as a separate subcategory or merge it into an ungrouped main category, while owllet automatically moves existing transactions, recurring rules and budgets into a same-named subcategory whenever a main category becomes a group.
Creating a subcategory now starts with its parent category's color and icon, which you can still change afterwards.
The Appearance screen now shows a Reset to defaults option whenever you've changed a color, so you can put every color back to how the app shipped in one tap.
Opening an account, a category from the Expenses by category chart, or the Dashboard's income and expenses totals now shows one month at a time, headed by that month's total with arrows for stepping back through earlier months — and every day now shows its income below its expenses.
Queued changes no longer stall before finishing their upload, large first-time uploads are considerably faster, and a workspace no longer reports a problem while it is already fully in sync.
The iCloud sync page now says exactly why a workspace is not fully synced and how many changes are still queued, and a new Sync diagnostics screen can export a report you can share with support.
Recurring reminders now cover all workspaces rather than only the active one, are grouped into one reminder per workspace, and open the right page when tapped even from a closed app.
A new inbox collects recurring reminders and shared-workspace activity in one place, with an unread badge in the menu and a tap that takes you straight to the item.
Approving the same pending recurring item on two synced devices now results in a single transaction instead of two.
Dashboard blocks can now be reordered by touching and holding a block, then dragging it into place.
Amount entry now includes addition, subtraction, multiplication and division across transactions, budgets, accounts, search and recurring approvals.
Back controls, Settings pages and workspace details now provide a more consistent navigation experience.
Hiding a main category now also hides its subcategories from budgets and new-entry lists.
Search now shows daily and overall result totals, with more reliable updates when search text is cleared.
Budget progress and category spending can now be reviewed month by month.
Sync now preserves pending changes more reliably, retries interrupted transfers and provides clearer status feedback.
Transactions shown under budgets can now be edited with a tap or removed using a swipe action.
Overspending calculations and indicators were corrected, with clearer totals in budget and transaction lists.
Imports from older workspaces now work more reliably, with improved progress and iCloud sync status information.
Invite another iCloud user to a workspace and keep its accounts, categories, transactions and recurring items synchronized together.
Workspaces can now sync through your private iCloud, either all together or only for the workspaces you choose.
You can now create iCloud backup files for your data, with automatic backups available for regular protection.
New workspaces can now be created as Easy or Power mode, with simplified recording for Easy mode and the full feature set in Power mode.
Separate workspaces now keep ledgers, settings and records scoped to the selected workspace.
Recurring income and expenses can now be scheduled, reviewed, approved, skipped or added automatically, and the reminder notifications for recurring items were refined.
Several quality-of-life improvements were introduced, including forms that jump straight to the first field with the keyboard ready, and a one-tap demo dataset.
The bottom navigation bar can now be turned off completely under Interface → Bottom menu.
The Statistics bar charts now show the current month plus the previous 11 months.
PIN, biometric lock, privacy cover, import, export and local data management were added under Settings.
Pick your own hex codes for the page background, the Dashboard's Income / Expenses sub-cards and every palette colour used by accounts and categories.
Every tab and Settings sub-page now follows the same card / section shell, so switching pages doesn't shift the visuals.
